Welcome our esteemed speakers, Distinguished Toastmasters and fellow Toastmasters.
March 8 , a big day for celebrating women. I believe they have specifically chosen March 8 to march towards 8.
8 is a symbol of abundance.
It’s a symbol of infinity.
It’s a symbol of balance.
To all the bold and beautiful women here, I wish you a happy Women’s Day and wish you great health, abundance and happiness. And it’s remarkably important to greet a huge thank to all the men and allies here for continuously supporting, encouraging and motivating us throughout.
We are not where we are without you.
I sincerely hope that you stay committed to bring sunshine to all lives of women around you.
Coming back to the topic, fate or faith?
How many of you here are faith driven? Let me put my second question. What really drives you to the fate or faith?
Before shedding a thought, let us go into the demography of India.
By the time of independence, the literacy rate of women was just 8.9%.
With so many diversity, inclusion and equity and level playing the field, nowadays this female literacy has improved to 70%.
What an amazing improvement! an amazing growth!
But the reality is, when you take into account of the experienced female in workforce, there is a deep, steep decline.
Why such a difference? Why such a shift? Where are we dropping out?
There can be multiple reasons from multiple people from all walks of life, but everything converges to single complaint, telling that it’s their fate. They have no other choice. Fate degrades their life. Dreams fades out and makes it fly away.
Is it really the fate that makes all these ?
Let’s also dive into the past and look for some lessons.
Have you been to Delhi?
Delhi is one of the violently attacked places in India way back from 4th century.
Not even a single king ruled it wisely and justly. Delhi has seen vast blood and flesh in everything.
For every transition in role; all the so far made improvements; architectural advancements ; streamline rules and regulations – everything is put down in into muck and mire ; collapsed into mud ; crashed down to mud and all efforts went futile.
In spite of this trend there stands a a tall and proud classical monument that was built in 11th century. Are you able to guess? It is a majestic masterpiece, a marvelous architecture.
Yes, Qutub Minar. It was built by a king called Qutbuddin Aybak.
Aybak was not very fortunate enough to be born in a royal family. He was a slave by birth. Yet he was very shrewd, skillful and sharp person and more notably a clear-minded and level-headed person.
He kicks everything that comes out of his way —make improvements — turn everything into his fortunate things. He was able to beat his fate; conquer his fate; achieve and rise to the throne of Delhi.
When a slave, an uneducated slave, a skillful slave is able to make to the throne, then why can’t we ?? well-educated well-skilled and well-qualified people rise to the meteors .
Why can’t we raise to the meteors ?? What is really prohibiting us ?? What holds you back??
Is that the fate?? If the slave was able to break then why can’t we ??
It’s neither your fate nor your family nor your friend —
It’s none but You !
it’s You!
You hold You back. It’s you your mind that holds you that retreats you.
Yes, your mind is very powerful.
When your mind lets you think that you are weak, of course you are weak.
When your mind lets you think you are strong, you become strong.
If your mind lets you think you are useless, of course you turn out useless. That’s the power of mind. What you think, you become.
From next time onwards, let us try to control our mind.
Leave the fate at the gate, control our mind to conquer your goals.
Yes. Once you fix your thought, once you fix your mind and heal for the positive,
the entire world conspires to make it happen.
I want to conclude my speech with my favourite quote that I repeat often to myself.
When your mind is very weak — every situation turns out to be a problem
When your mind is very balanced — every situation turns out to be a challenge
Whereas When your mind is powerful when your mind is strong — every insoluble situation turns out to be an opportunity — bright opportunity and you come up bubbling with so many possibilities and it increases the pleasure of your living.
So before making any decisions, before quitting or before retreating, just think, how is your mind now? How is your mind? Strong, weak or balanced?
Thank you.
